We recently had a great time getting hosted at one of our previous favorite neighborhood spots. Bella Italia is a long time staple in North Raleigh off of Durant Road. They have a great setup for private or group dining as well as a recently updated patio, which gives a nice private backdrop for North Raleigh dining. The setup has served great for takeout orders throughout the pandemic (our favorite options are desserts and pizza!) The owners are super friendly and have been serving the community here since 2001.
We started off our meal with warm bread served over butter. We also had the Calamari, Arancini rice balls, and Bruschetta. All of these were great small dishes to get us going. The rice balls had five cheeses blended and paired perfect with the sauce. The bruschetta was out of this world and highly recommended for the freshness layered top to bottom.
The entrees we had on this visit were the Shrimp Bella Italia and the Chicken Saltimbocca. Both of these dishes were very fresh and included generous portions. The shrimp was gigantic and the dish was very well balanced. The Shrimp Bella Italia is a highly recommended option on the menu.
For dessert we had the cannoli and Peanut Butter Landslide. These were incredible. The cannoli’s can be made to order with the cream ordered from New York. Our favorite dessert here for years has been the Big Fat Chocolate Cake. You can’t go wrong with any of the dessert options here!
They offer great specials through the week with daily lunch specials ranging from $6.50 to $10. We have had their pizzas and this is a confirmed excellent value! One of the other specials catching our eye was the wine Wednesday, which includes 2 entrees, 2 salads, and a bottle of house wine for under $40.
Bella Italia is a great option for whatever occasion you are going out for. It creates a friendly atmosphere and is great for fine or casual dining. We highly recommend them to our followers looking for a great authentic Italian dining experience.
