We had a great return visit at the new location off of Glenwood in North Raleigh. This location is similar to the other location in that it offers live entertainment and a great pub feel but it is second to nowhere with some of the great attention to detail around their bar. It happened to be a playoff Sunday in the NFL and there is no better spot you could ask for to watch a game. The tables around the bar were each stocked with a personal TV and wall outlet to allow for phone charging or any other use you may have. The bar itself had a layer above it with TVs wrapping the inside and outside of the overhang.
The restaurant has great drink specials and we were lucky enough to be able to sample a few. We had the High Dive Cosmo, Green Tea, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. All were great. I love all things Jameson which makes the Green Tea an excellent choice. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a yummy fireball with a smooth and mild taste from the Rumchata. Delicious! All three are great additions to #ncdrinkfinds.
We started the meal off with the calamari frittas and the lobster queso dip. Both are excellent choices for appetizers. The frittas had a great presentation with octopi fried in perfect poses. The queso had the perfect amount of chips and is great for any kind of meal or occasion.
For the main course we had the hand cut rib-eye. This bad boy was cooked perfect to our order and had a massive potato to complement along with house cole slaw served cleanly in a lettuce leaf. We also had the hog in a quilt which sounded great from the menu. It did not disappoint! This half pound angus beef dog is stuffed with kraut and swiss cheese and wrapped in a puff pastry. We had the house made pub chips with ranch and were so happy with our selection. We finished the meal off with a really good brownie sundae.
Be on the lookout for the new Pickled Pub which will be arriving soon to Wakefield Commons. This will be similar to the other locations with a little more gastro pub feel. We can’t wait to try it!
